Owlegories 2: The Ant, The Fruit, The Butterfly: A Review

We were sent the movie called Owlegories 2: The Ant, The Fruit, The Butterfly. Owlegories follows a group of owls who attend class together. They travel on three adventures in this series learning about nature, faith, and God. Owlegories: The Ant the Fruit and The Butterfly is actually the second in the series. My children were so excited to receive this in the mail! The minute the post woman dropped off our DVD my son, Boober, had to put it in the DVD player to watch!

This was an especially cute DVD. I loved that it was broken down into 15-minute segments. Each segment of the DVD was easy for them to follow and held their attention. Each 15-minute segment focuses on a different lesson.

In the first lesson, the students are getting a pancake breakfast. They need to go out to tap trees for maple syrup for the pancakes. The students easily lose their focus and do not complete the task. They happened to bring the ants from their classroom ant farm. In the first lesson, they learn that because the ants from the ant farm cooperate, work hard and plan for the future that they come back with maple syrup needed for the pancakes.

At the end of the DVD the young Owl named Gus decides to put on a performance for the other owls. He breaks out his guitar and sings a song called “God Made A Lot of Things” my kids cracked up at the song they thought this was hilarious! This little owl has got to be their favorite owl!

Truthfully we really truly enjoyed this DVD. The very next day after we received this DVD, my son asked if he could watch a DVD while I cleaned the kitchen. Of all the movies we own, he chose Owlegories. Owlegories not only entertained them, they truly enjoyed it and watched again and again! I am glad to say that this movie was well-produced and hold high-quality lessons. I was glad to let them watch it.
